FanDuel and Jon Rothstein Sign Exclusive Deal

FanDuel and Jon Rothstein chake hands on a multi year partnership

Sports betting giant FanDuel inked an unprecedented partnership with media personality Jon Rothstein. The multi-year deal is thought to be worth millions.

The deal positions FanDuel as the exclusive sports betting partner for the college basketball insider known for his popular podcasts CollegeHoops Today and Stuffed.

The collaboration certainly couldn’t have come at a better time, with March Madness just around the corner. An average of 16.9 million viewers tuned into last year’s NCAA men’s basketball championship. That’s quite a platform for one man to discuss betting options while providing live basketball coverage for all 67 games.

Fans can expect new content across multiple platforms

A major component of the deal will require Rothstein to create unique content on his social media channels. The social media sports influencer currently has over 279.9K and 19.6K followers on Twitter and Instagram, respectively. He used his Twitter platform on January 27 to announce the collaboration to his followers. In the meanwhile, FanDuel announced the deal on their page on the previous day.

Rothstein will appear on FanDuel’s digital shows and programming, contribute articles to their publications and collaborate on custom offerings. The agreement also stipulates FanDuel’s exclusive access to Jon’s name, likeness, and taglines including “Stay hungry, stay humble,” and “We Sleep in May.”

The partnership will enable FanDuel to generate customized experiences for college basketball fans to engage more openly with the FanDuel Sportsbook app.

“The digital media space has drastically changed in the last five years, and I’ve been searching for the right opportunity to bring all of my content to one place – this is that opportunity,” Rothstein said.
“… I look forward to partnering with FanDuel to give them the best content that they can receive each and every day. There is no ceiling with this marriage and I can’t wait to get started.”

Clearly, the 38-year-old sports analyst is excited about the deal. And rightly so; because one cares more about college basketball than Jon Rothstein. His knowledge on the subject is profound, and he is well-aware of the sports fan’s insatiable appetite for more content.

The Rothstein partnership is one of many for FanDuel

Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel, also appreciates the huge value in the alliance. He had this to say regarding Rothstein:

“Jon is an emerging talent with a passionate following, and we’re looking forward to working with him as we bring together sports betting and college basketball. We’ll work together to customize the betting and basketball experience, taking things to the next level for college hoops fans.”

In teaming with FanDuel, Rothstein joins a cast of exclusive sports betting talent first led by Pat McAfee in 2019. Other sports presenters on the roster include Jordan Speith, Kenny Smith, Colin, Cowherd, Cousin Sal, JJ Zachariason, Charles Barkley, Dr. Disrespect, and Tim the Tat Man.

FanDuel has also banded together with blue-chip media companies Pat McAfee Inc., Audacity, Turner Sports, Volume, Bleacher Report, The Ringer, SportsGrid, Sinclair, and Minute Media.
